In giving us the Holy Rosary, Mary assures us that prayer really can and does change lives. It can even change the course of history!
In October of 1571, the fate of Europe and the future of Christianity were in great peril. That year, the Ottoman Turks occupied Constantinople, the once great capital of the Holy Roman Empire in the East.
As the naval forces of Spain, Austria, and the Papal States began to work together, the Holy Father begged Catholics to pray the Rosary, seeking Our Blessed Mother’s intercession to secure victory. As the ships engaged in the Battle of Lepanto, countless ordinary men and women across Europe earnestly prayed the Rosary. And those Rosaries did what no army alone could achieve: they sent the Ottoman Navy away in total defeat!
Whatever battles need to be won in your own life, entrust them to Mary by enrolling in our Novena of Masses in honor of the Feast of the Holy Rosary!
Nine consecutive Masses will be offered at The Rosary Shrine of Saint Jude, beginning on September 29 and concluding on the Feast of the Holy Rosary on October 7.
